As the beginning of my blog, I want to ask one simple question. Do you live in a toxic home? Now before you jump up and say "NO" because you don't have barrels of toxic waste lying around your home, hear me out.
Of course we don't have plutonium in our living rooms, or mercury floating in our tubs. Toxins can be dozens of things, ranging from pollution from outside air or dirt tracked into the home that is contaminated with lawn chemicals. But the biggest problem in our homes, are the products that are "supposed" to make our home "clean!"
Let's look at something I personally can't stand, scent! Why you ask? Because when you wash your clothes with products that smell like "Clean Breeze" or "Mountain Spring" what exactly are you doing to your clothes? When they come out of the wash and they smell like the "breeze" or the "spring" what is that? It is a chemical, that is now embedded into your clothing. The marketing of a "clean" smell is totally off base, because clean doesn't smell!
Just like our fresh clothing, the same goes for our kitchens, bathrooms, and homes in general. We spray things into the air that smell "good" to cover up uncleanliness and in turn put toxins into our homes. I don't want to bore you too much, but look under your sink and take an inventory of how many products are for cleaning, but have harmful chemicals.
Better yet, just toss the toxic waste under your sink in the garbage and get ahold of a "Green" product that is biodegradable, non-toxic, earth and family friendly. Here is a link to my webpage that has green cleaners! The same ones that Oprah's housekeepers use in her home. http://www.shaklee.net/madsen_associates/product/GetCleanStarterKit
